Happy birthday to Twilight's Edward Cullen and happy Robert Pattinson Day!

The real star of the Twilight series, some say is its leading vampire, Edward Cullen.
In the book series, Edward Cullen was born on June 20, 1901, and was transformed into a vampire in 1918.
Forever seventeen in physical form, Edward Cullen, as a character, is one which many people across the world find to be impossibly perfect.
The coven son of a human-friendly doctor (Carlisle Cullen), Edward was able to toughen himself up - biting away (pun intended) at natural urges to consume his fellow world-dwellers (albeit humans) and submitting to a mediocre satiation by sustaining himself on animals - for life as a Cullen.
When he met Bella, some decades later, Edward began to question his reserve, and, in Twilight, found that no matter how urgent his desire to stay away from Bella to avoid "complications" might be, he was so attracted to his "la tua cantante" for all her irresistable qualities (her smell and ability to shield his power of thought-reading included).
This character's generosity, good nature, and gorgeousness (both in the minds of the Twilight series reader and in the visual depiction as portrayed by Robert Pattinson) has brought him close to the hearts of millions, and has made his literary birthday something to celebrate.
Happy birthday to Edward Cullen.
Coincidentally (or, perhaps not), this day is also "Robert Pattinson Day" to at least one cinema, which will show back-to-back features of Pattinson's (including How To Be, Little Ashes, and Twilight) today.
So, happy Robert Pattinson Day as well.
