Over at NewMoonMovie.org, they have a very interesting discussion going on about the shades (or "tints," rather) of Twilight versus those of The Twilight Saga: New Moon.
Comparing some of the official screenshots that were released yesterday, NMM notes that, while we knew Twilight to have a "blue-ish" hue, The Twilight Saga: New Moon looks a little brassy (or "golden" as they say).
Drawing up this excellent photo portrayal of the distinctions (with their technicolor wizardry, it seems), the site re-creates the Twilight-esque azul and contrasts it with the New Moon oro-aura.
This distinction, it seems, is quite sharp, and paints a nice picture of what some of the directorial deviations between the two films would look like head-to-head.
While Twilight's blue-ish imagery was embedded in nearly all of its scenery (anywhere from Tyler's van to Dr. Cullen's shirt and tie), The Twilight Saga: New Moon's brassy look may just be a result of a sharper image. On the other hand, Twilight was ushering in the "Forks" feel (cloudy, rainy, etc.), while New Moon's position is a step above - the groundwork on this front has been laid.
There are a plethora of potential reasons for these visual dynamics, but one constancy remains - the two films certainly do have a different look. Kudos to NewMoonMovie.org for revealing this so eloquently.
