Twilight New Moon Movie Changes: Chris Weitz Speaks

web has been a buzz with rumors of changes for the Twilight New Moon movie where it will deviate from the books and Christ Weitz the director took a minute to talk to the Edmonton News about the changes and how he has been carefull when cutting things to use the book as the 'bible' while still making cuts;
It’s impossible to be completely faithful to every single page of a book because movies don’t have enough time. So you end up cutting things and combining things. But I would say that we’re definitely using the book as our bible. My take on this film is the film is the book and Stephanie Mayer is my main resource for everything in this. I’m constantly checking with her to see if it’s something a character would do or a detail is right. You can never absolutely please everybody but my main intention is to satisfy the fans of the book.
As far as what has supposedly changed Life & Style broke the news a month ago about some major changes which had Twilight Fans quite upset. Read on for the changes but be aware this is spoilerish. They are;
Bella is a DareDevil in the film in comparison to the book.
Although Edward is supposed to appear to Bella as a voice only the filmmakers have decided to have him in the film as a ghostly figure instead of just a voice. No doubt to get him more screen time for the fans.
In the books apparently Laurent is destroyed by the wolves, where as in the film he will fight them.
lastly in the book Edward says he will turn Bella into a vampire if they marry. Obviously to keep things more 'teen' they have decided to remove the marriage angle.

  1. What do you mean they've removed the "marriage angle"?? What is it about this that makes it not a "teen" thing. How are they going to lead into the next book and the wedding if they don't address it here. I'm confused. Someone please explain.

  2. Iam completely with you on this one. The marriage part of it is a major part and is basically the starting pint for the next two stories! So, i agree how exactly are they going to lead into the next two books without it??? Grrrr
