Disney Diva Demi Lovato to Twilight Tango with New Moon Soundtrack?

Now that New Moon has wrapped filming, and Twilight reports over the movie’s soundtrack are in full Twilight Saga hyper drive, Disney diva Demi Lovato has been thrown into the Twilight ether of musical artists that would like to crack the New Moon soundtrack. Although expressing a desire to be on the New Moon soundtrack isn’t quite “news,” online reports are circulating that Demi Lovato, the star of Disney Channel’s successful hit show “Sonny With a Chance,” would be thrilled to be part of the New Moon OST although even Lovato doubts it would happen. Lovato’s music career began with her breakout role opposite Joe Jonas in the Disney Channel movie “Camp Rock,” which rode a similar wave of popularity as the High School Musical franchise.
Given the recent New Moon soundtrack buzz, some fans of the Twilight Saga have already started to campaign against Lovato’s involvement since the musical style of Demi Lovato, most of them say, does not fit well with the sombre and melancholy tone of New Moon. Despite a lack of musical New Moon love, Lovato does fit perfectly into the biggest target Twilight demographic since Demi is only two months shy of her 17th birthday. Still, as we found out with the many teen actresses who wanted to be in New Moon, numbers don’t mean much when it comes to Twilight.
The Demi Lovato New Moon news comes fresh on the heels of reports that former American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson, herself a self-confessed Twilight nerd, recently penned a song called “Empty as I Am” with two of her backup singers for the New Moon OST. In a recent interview, Kelly Clarkson described the tone of the song as fitting well with the melancholy tone of New Moon which Twilight fans know carries a deep sense of loss as the Kristen Stewart embodied Bella Swan mourns the absence of her beloved Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson, while the Taylor Lautner character, Jacob Black, mourns his unrequited love for Bella.
Leaked versions of a song called “Did You” were bouncing around the internet as the supposed song that Kelly Clarkson penned for New Moon, but Twilight fans have been quick to confirm that it is an completely different song despite the lyrics eerily echoing the tone and storyline of The Twilight Saga sequel New Moon.
If Summit Entertainment and Twilight Saga author were to include Demi Lovato on the New Moon OST, the young starlet revealed that she would indeed write a love song for the film. Surprising? Not really, but at least it would be original.
Demi Lovato is set to tour this summer with 2008’s American Idol Runner-up David Archuleta.

Robert Pattinson is getting the hang of this heartthrob thing. In a photo shoot for Interview magazine, the Twilight star exudes sexy in a black and white photo with his baggy sweats pulled provocatively low. But the actor, who previously was known for his role as Cederic Diggory in the Harry Potter films, isn't taking the newfound stardom too seriously. "It's funny because teenage girls would say, 'Oh, my God, you're Cedric!' It switched in a week to 'Oh, my God, it's Edward!' " he says of his part as vampire Edward Cullen. "Allegiances change so freely in the teen-girl world."

Twilight sequel New Moon could be the first bloodless vampire movie

The first Twilight film wasn't exactly a hit with the critics – Peter Bradshaw and Xan Brooks's trend-bucking notwithstanding – but the teen vampire romance based on the popular novel by Stephenie Meyers did incredibly well at the box office, racking up $382m (£233m) worldwide. Shortly afterwards, producers Summit Entertainment parted company with director Catherine Hardwicke after she said she could not turn around the sequel, New Moon, in the short time that was being demanded.

Hardwicke, who also directed teen drama Thirteen and skating documentary Lords of Dogtown, reportedly cited the difficulty of producing convincing CGI in haste for certain sequences in the followup, which focuses on a rival clan of werewolves. Instead, Summit, fearing fans of the first film would lose interest in the interim, charged Chris Weitz (who made the 2007 adaptation of Philip Pullman's The Golden Compass) with bringing the second film to the screen within a year of Twilight's release.
Weitz, if the first trailer for New Moon is indicative, has found a novel way to bypass those complicated, CGI-heavy lycanthrope transformation scenes: instead of showing a man changing slowly into a wolf, he shows a man leaping into the air and landing as a wolf, omitting the actual transformation bit completely. Clever, huh?
This isn't the only reason why New Moon, out on 20 November in the US and a week later here, might be the single most missable movie of 2009. The lingering glances and brooding stares which constituted the performances of Bella Swann (Kristen Stewart) and vampire lover Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) in the first movie are back, as are the Gap model bloodsuckers. And the wolf, once it does land, looks slightly less terrifying than an angry chihuahua.
Of course, New Moon only has to appeal to fans of Meyers's novels and the first movie, as well as teenage girls who presumably like to imagine Pattinson ravaging their own tender necks. But it would be nice if the whole project wasn't so, well, bloodless. What do you make of this one

Twilight: Edward and Bella: The Best Love Story Ever

“I think Twilight Twilight I have seen in a very long time……. It felt more like you were watching a home movie and that you were a part of it, not like you were watching just a movie. It touched my life in a way that I can’t really explain. It makes me want to be a part of the Cullen family, to just be a part of the movie, a small part, doesn’t even matter how. Ah and Edward Cullen, he plays the part so well, he makes his part so believable. His face is chiseled so well that its as close to perfection as you can get, he has so many different looks to his face if you didn’t notice in the movie, his eyes seem to have changed with his expressions. A man of many faces and what a gorgeous face. Also his wanting not to be the monster, to put Bella above all else, to keep her safe at all cost. The love even though he doesn’t truly believe he deserves it or that he should love her. Yes the Lion fell in LOVE with the Lamb and oh how magical it all seems. It is what all women truly want but in reality we know that men are never going to be that way. To find such a man would in itself be a miracle.
So in saying this, that is why this movie gives us so much. We can loose ourselves and have an alternate reality and put ourselves in Bellas place for a little while and have what we so desire. I have so many times and I will many times again. When you have never had even the slightest bit of what she has gotten from Edward it makes it all the sweeter to pretend for just that little while when all the world goes away except for you and Edward, that its you that feels his touch and his lips are touching yours. What a dream, what a fantasy, what an alternate reality. Thanks Stephanie for giving me just a glimpse of a bitter sweet love story and letting me be in that world for a moment, a day, in my dreams, in my nights laying in bed alone thinking of my Edward.”

Twilight stars, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are nominated for the Best Kiss MTV Movie Award this weekend. But do you know what happened the first time they kissed?
Catherine Hardwick, the filmaker of the first Twilight movie, wanted to see what kind of chemistry Kristen Stewart, in the role of Bella, would have with some potential Edwards. So she invited Kristen over to her house, along with several Edward prospects for what she calls "chemistry readings."
Kristen Stewart sat on Catherine's bed and attempted kissing three different actors. Then Robert Pattinson came over and Kristen met him for the first time. And right after meeting each other, the two shared their first kiss. According to Catherine, "They had to do it three times. The first time, they went a little too far, and I was like, 'I can't show this to anybody at the studio!'" Wow, so Kristen and Robert were perfect for each other from the start.
Catherine also says that Kristen immediately told her she wanted the role of Edward Cullen to go to Robert Pattinson and that "she basically threatened me." We think Kristen made the right choice with Robert Pattinson and clearly Twilight fans thought the kiss was perfect. But was it perfect enough to win an MTV Movie Award? We're going with yes.

Andy Samberg Is a Fan of 'Twilight' and Robert Pattinson's Edward Cullen

Andy Samberg is one big fan of vampire drama movie "Twilight" and he isn't shy of making public his love for the film's leading character Edward Cullen. "Twilight makes me jizz, man," he told E! News' Marc Malkin amidst preparation he did for his hosting gig at the upcoming 2009 MTV Movie Awards on Thursday, May 28 at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City. "I've seen 'Twilight' once. But I've seen scenes from 'Twilight' many times in my dreams," the "Saturday Night Live" star went on gushing. "You know what I mean? In a lot of ways I see 'Twilight' constantly every day, because once you see it, it stays with you forever." Addressing on the buzz surrounding the film and its highly anticipated sequel "The Twilight Saga's New Moon," Andy made a direct reference to the cast ensemble's love for baseball. He said, "They love playing baseball! What's not to love? If you told me that we were going to make this movie about vampires that are really, really good at baseball, I would say, 'Sign me on!'" Then asked if he is team Edward Cullen or Jacob Black, Andy answered, "Edward all the way." He, moreover, told E! News' Marc Malkin that he thinks the role played by Robert Pattinson is "steamy!" In related news, it has been confirmed that Robert, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner are all tapped to attend the MTV Movie Awards to present a new trailer of "The Twilight Saga's New Moon." The annual awards gala itself is slated to be aired live on MTV on Sunday, May 31.

Theme of 'New Moon' is 'Romeo and Juliet,' according to Stephenie Meyer

Stephenie Meyer, author of the widely popular book series, The Twight saga, has stated in interviews that certain classic works of literature echo throughout her bestselling books. The work of literature she cites as tied to New Moon, the second novel in the Twilight quartet, is the Shakespearean tragedy, Romeo and Juliet. In discussing the close or loose connections of the four books to their classical inspirations in her mind, Meyer says, “New Moon was much more closely tied to Romeo and Juliet. It’s really the theme of the novel.”
This theme is first made evident in the novel with its epigraph, quoted from the play: "These violent delights have violent ends / And in their triumph die, like fire and powder, / Which, as they kiss, consume." (Romeo and Juliet, Act II, Scene VI).
Readers may also recall that in the opening chapter of New Moon, Bella protests against going to the eighteenth birthday party Alice Cullen has planned for her by saying first she needs to watch the 1960s film version of Romeo and Juliet for English class. The 1960s version, which Bella says their teacher, Mr. Berty, recommends as the best, is likely the famous Franco Zeffirelli film, starring Olivia Hussey and Leonard Whiting. Bella convinces Edward Cullen to watch it with her.
While they are on the couch viewing the film, Edward tells Bella he doesn’t have much patience for Romeo. He mentions Romeo’s fickleness for being in love with Rosaline, then Juliet, then his brashness in killing Juliet’s cousin soon after they are married. “Could he have destroyed his own happiness any more thoroughly?” Edward asks (17).
Bella is a bit put off at Edward’s remark because Romeo was one of her favorite fictional characters. Later, Edward admits that he does envy Romeo for one thing—the ease with which he can commit suicide as a human being compared to being a vampire. Edward then mentions the Volturi and implies their role in ending a vampire’s life. He scares Bella when he tells her that the thought of suicide crossed his mind the previous spring when she came so close to dying in Phoenix. When Bella protests these thoughts, Edward says calmly, “Well, I wasn’t going to live without you” (19). Readers of Shakespeare’s play know that Romeo commits suicide for just the same reason when he mistakenly thinks Juliet has died.
SPOILER ALERT…
At the end of New Moon, Edward attempts to commit ‘vampire suicide’--by revealing his vampire qualities in public and bringing on the wrath of the Volturi--when he thinks Bella has done the same by jumping off a cliff. The dramatic scene of Bella running through the crowded piazza on St. Marcus Day in Volterra, Italy--splashing through the fountain just as the clock begins to strike the hour, in order to save Edward from exposing himself to the sunlight in public--is one of the most highly anticipated scenes in the entire planned quartet of Twilight saga films. Instead of the tragic ending of Romeo and Juliet, "Juliet" is about to save her "Romeo."
In the first moments after Bella saves him and he is disoriented, thinking he sees Bella in death or some other state of being, Edward quotes Romeo from the scene when he sees drugged Juliet lying in the tomb, presuming her to be dead, “Death, that hath sucked the honey of thy breath, hath had no power yet upon thy beauty” (452). Both Edward and Romeo, neither one content to live if their lovers have died, think their lovers are so beautiful that even death cannot take that beauty away.
After all he puts Bella and himself through in his efforts to protect her in New Moon, readers may think back to Edward's remark at the beginning of the novel and see him more like Romeo than the character might see himself. He may crystallize the theme of the novel in speaking more about himself than he realizes when he says, "Could he have destroyed his own happiness any more thoroughly?" The events of the novel also let readers know that this couple is serious, indeed. Edward also speaks the theme when he says, "Well, I wasn't going to live without you."
