Sam Bradley talks working with Robert Pattinson

Last November, Sam Bradley got the kind of break that any fledgling singer-songwriter would kill for. His song, “Never Think,” was included on the soundtrack to Twilight, which went on to become the best-selling movie soundtrack since 2002’s Chicago — no small feat, considering the music industry’s declining sales. It also didn’t hurt that the song was co-written and performed by Twilight star Robert Pattinson.

“I knew the movie was going to be a big deal,” the London native says. “I knew that the soundtrack would also do well, but I did not think that it would trickle down so much to the co-writers such as myself. For that (success) to break my own music, I think, is quite extraordinary.”
Twilight’s astronomical success gave serious career boosts to a number of artists on its soundtrack, including Franklin rock group Paramore, whose song, “Decode,” was the album’s lead single. Bradley remembers his sudden surge in popularity last year as “extremely overwhelming and difficult to manage.”
“It was just me (managing my career), because it never needed to be anyone other than just me. Then thousands of emails started coming in, and thousands of (MySpace) plays a day, and gigs offered here, here and here. I didn’t even have a manager. I don’t know, I was lost for a little while.”
Today, Bradley has a clear — and ambitious — game plan. He’s currently on tour with Top 40 rockers Thriving Ivory, and he’s taking advantage of a break in the schedule to play a headlining gig at Nashville club 3rd and Lindsley on July 3rd. At the end of the month, he’ll head to TwiCon, a three-day Twilight fan convention held in Dallas. Bradley says he’s happy to be associated with the Twilight phenomenon.
“I know I’m going to break out of it, and I know that it’s going to be a wonderful, blessed thing that has happened in my life, and something that can go on my resume, as one of many (things.)”
As for plans to work with Pattinson in the future, he says, “We’re just two friends that play guitar, so I’m sure that’ll come up again.”

Sam Bradley, "“Rob is a really great cook.."

Rob Pattinson is a bit of a mystery man on screen as edward Cullen and off screen as Robert Pattinson as well. What's he really like? Life & Style talks to a Sam Bradley and they identify him as Rob's best pal. The magazine notes that "Bradley co-wrote the song “Never Think” on the Twilight sound track, is playing Dallas’ TwiCon festival in July and had New Moon cast members cheering him on at his recent Vancouver, British Columbia, concerts.

So - How did this British rocker, who played three sold-out shows at LA’s Hotel Cafe in May, get sucked into the Twilight zone? “Robert was the new kid when I was 12, and I showed him around school,” Sam reveals to Life & Style. The boys became fast friends, later getting a flat together in London, where Sam looked forward to Rob’s expert beans-and-toast making.

More here. “He’s very well-rounded,” Sam dishes. “Rob is a really great cook. He’s extremely friendly, very outgoing, very intelligent, very well-read. He loves writing. He’s really talented.” So talented that Sam tapped his pal to contribute to his upcoming album, co-writing tracks influenced by the duo’s families, travels — and loves.

“Rob goes for intelligent, experienced-in-life girls,” he tells Life & Style. “And any chance I can get, I would love to be having a romantic meal with a lady.”

Sam Bradley's New Song, Cowritten with Robert Pattinson

The Examiner Wrote about Sam's recent concerts, where he performed a new song that he wrote with Rob for the full review click here
The
Sheila Marrs, photographer, reader of this column, and fan of Sam Bradley, attended both of Sam Bradley's shows in Los Angeles this week.

Delighting the audience with everything from "Derek" to "That's How Strong My Love Is," Bradley played a total of eleven songs - allowing the audience to take the reigns on his "Too Far Gone." Afterward, true to form, Bradley "came out at the end of the night and took photos with the fans." Also, said she, "three very large in-your-face paparazzi were all over Sam. He handled it quite well."

The show, as anticipated, was sold out, with one member in attendance being Gene Simmons from KISS (who, it is said, had a conversation with Lee Lindsey about Sam and her music).

according to Marrs, included a presentation of the song which Bradley co-wrote with The Twilight Saga: New Moon star Robert Pattinson while he was filming in Vancouver (video below)

Twilight's Rob and Kristen Support Sam Bradley plus pictures

even more pictures from saturday
And not long after the show kicked off, Sam's buddy Rob showed up to support him. Peeking out from the backroom with a black hoodie over his head, Rob rocked out to Sam's music -- and we saw with our own eyes that Rob plays a mean air guitar! The entire time, Rob was having a blast -- his trademark ear-to-ear grin never left his face. He chatted with pals backstage, laughed, and just looked so proud of his friend, Sam.

Rob wasn't the only Twilighter in attendance -- Kristen Stewart also showed up. She rocked out quite a bit herself and when Sam said that T-shirts were available, she screamed along in support.

Both Rob and Kristen genuinely looked like they were having the best time ever -- and made sure the show was all about Sam, not them. Awww! And boy do they have good taste -- we can't get Sam's catchy tunes out of our head.

Sam Bradley Interview :"he’s a great cook. Amazing"

Being Robert Pattinson's BFF does have its benefits. Just ask Vancouver-based singer-songwriter Sam Bradley, who got involved with Twilight thanks to his friendship with the actor. "I wrote a song on the soundtrack, co-wrote with Rob Pattison and its expanded my audience way beyond anything I could possibly imagine," Sam told MuchNews.

Robert sang their song "Never Think (Too Far Gone)" on the Twilight soundtrack and Sam told us about the songwriting process. “It was just me and him. We’re just friends. It wasn’t anything spectacular. Just had a few beers, played a bit of guitar and put some words to a bit of music.”

The two blokes were roommates in London for a few months and Sam shares some insider info about living with Rob. "His best qualities – he’s a great cook. Amazing. He makes really good beans. And his worst qualities, he’s just so tidy, such a neat freak."

Sam also told MuchNews that he and Rob have written several new songs since Robert arrived in Vancouver to shoot the Twilight sequel New Moon.

Look out for our interview with Sam Bradley on an upcoming episode of MuchNewsWeekly.
