While two days ago, Michael Sheen (who will play Aro in The Twilight Saga: New Moon) was among the to-be Volturi vampires (Dakota Fanning and Jamie Campbell Bower included) to arrive in Vancouver, he was a bit scraggly at the time (see also the many other faces of Michael Sheen here). Now, it appears that he has prepared himself for filming by cleaning up a bit.
Lainey Gossip, who always brings us many pictures (check her out for more pictures) of the Twilight cast, reported on the events of the day by providing new photographs of Michael Sheen out and about, with a new look, and some information on the filming process to go along with it. Says she,
Today: Edward is hurled in the air, tossed against a wall when he attempts to protect Bella. Am pretty sure in the book his torture consisted of him writhing on the floor in pain. Obviously, visually, the throwing is much more spectacular, requiring much less emphasis on, um, Robert Pattinson’s facial expressions. Every time he was hurting in the first movie, he looked like he wanted to poo. Oh hush Twi-hards. It was the direction! Also on sched: Aro is convinced to release Bella, Edward, and Alice because he sees the vision.
Robert Pattinson, who plays Edward in the series, told us in an Entertainment Tonight interview that he expected to be attacked from many fronts throughout the filming process. While in the book New Moon, we saw Jane (played by Dakota Fanning) render Edward helpless with her calculated visual maneuvers, we (apparently) will see much more raucous behavior stemming from the film's Volturi ensemble.
While, for the most part, on-set photographs have gone to show that The Twilight Saga: New Moon and its director Chris Weitz are going to be quite in-line with the literal text of Stephenie Meyer's book New Moon, this is but one example of a few key deviations that we can expect from the film (another being, of course, the "flittering images" of Edward Cullen as well as the "dark" dream that Bella will have of him).
