Robert Pattinson and the Cast of Twilight Didn't Play in Italy

While filming New Moon in Italy, the Twilight stars didn't get to explore and play in the beautiful country. Was it Robert Pattinson's fault?
There's a lot to see in Italy, but Robert Pattinson, Ashley Greene, Kristen Stewart, and the rest of the Twlight cast didn't really get to enjoy it while filming New Moon. According to Ashley Greene, "We literally all had two bodyguards and drivers, and we couldn't walk and had to be driven around the set. It was because there were thousands of girls that came in from everywhere in the world to see (Robert Pattinson)."
So it's Robert Pattinson's fault for being so good looking, girls were coming from everywhere to see him. The fans would even sleep outside the gates just waiting for a glimpse of Robert and the cast. While the cast was filming the first Twilight movie, they were able to do as they pleased in Vancouver because the world wasn't yet obsessed with them.
Kellan Lutz confirms this and says, "Every second of Rob's life is watched now," while Cam Gigandet says, "(His fame) is always growing, but Rob is still Rob - which is a good thing."
We can't imagine being in Italy and not even getting to see the sites, but it sounds like Robert Pattinson was a tourist attraction himself!

Rob hasn’t been able to spend much time with New Moon fans in Italy and some fans think he is being controlled.

One fan from the UK has been able to get the inside scoop on what’s allegedly happening to Rob.

Katie twittered: “I spoke to journalist friend yesterday. She is staying at same hotel as cast. Rob’s not allowed to leave his room, only for filming and two dinners out. The dinners out were in private rooms in restaurant.

“Also, she was sitting in Piazza Grande on Saturday at cafe, hardly anyone around at the time. Rob’s car was driving round, window open, Rob looking at set. She happened to look up as Rob passed, she couldn’t believe it.“Car was going very slowly. She asked for autograph and walked up to car, Rob started to lean out to sign, she heard car doors lock, then car sped away before Rob could sign, Rob was looking back at her.

“(There’s) conflict between American production team and Italian team. Italians don’t want New Moon here.

“She overheard security talking, she can understand Italian but they didn’t know. Rob has 30 min break for lunch during filming. He was given choice of either signing autographs or eating lunch! Obviously he ate lunch!

“Italian team told extras to boo Rob when he came out for scene, as he refused to meet them. This is a complete lie! Rob wanted to but wasn’t allowed! Some people booed him. Most cheered. Rob smiled. Aww.”

Another Rob Pattinson In Italy From Yesterday

Twi-hards are now rejoicing that Kristen and Robert Pattinson are reunited after a brief separation and a scare from a friend of Emile Hirsch (more on this in an upcoming article later today). The two had dinner last night in Montepulciano where New Moon will shoot with members of the crew. Kristen was photographed rolling a joint and smoking it. She found a hookup fast!

Attached – a couple shots of Kristen walking around the set during prep. Shooting begins on Tuesday and the planned schedule is as follows:

First two days will focus on Bella trying to make her way through the throngs of festival revelers to reach Edward. She jumps in the fountain, wades through it, towards him. Of course she makes it in time at which point he pulls her into a building.

By the way – if you’re wondering, yes, they’ll be trying to include the “slamming” into his body.

When they reunite, Bella and Edward do kiss followed by the arrival of Jane and the others.

They’ll also film something from Alice’s perspective on these two days. She “sees” Edward sparkling in the sunlight.

Some the driving sequences will also go ahead on Tuesday and Wednesday, schedule permitting. .

On Thursday they’ll be jumping into a hole in the ground. This will likely be Robert Pattinson’s final day barring any major delays – heads up to you twi-hards who’ve made the journey.

Friday is more driving and Porsche work.

After that…a Twilight break. Until August

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart: Hanging in Italy

They’ve been hard at work filming “New Moon” for months now, and yesterday (May 24) Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were spotted out in Italy taking some time off the movie set.
The “Twilight” hotties looked to be enjoying their down time with a swanky dinner out at a restaurant near Montepulciano along with a few crew members.

Mostly filmed in Vancouver, Canada, “New Moon” also has a short shooting schedule in Italy before post production on the film can begin. It is scheduled to hit theaters November 20th.
In related news, Mr. Pattinson was spotted all over the South of France last week enjoying the scene at the 2009 Cannes International Film Festival.

Rob Pattinson's Italy Body Double?

Apparently the body double of Robert Pattinson for the Italian shootings in Montepulciano was finally chosen (the guy posting in the indicated blog is a journalist) and you'll find a youtube video of the guy (whose name is Alan Cappelli), who is the protagonist of an Italian tv commercial running on most tv channels these days.

One guy of our staff was also chosen as a walk-on actor for the shootings, we're thrilled!

And a hearsay from Italy: it seems like they're going to shoot one scene inside a building, and probably it's going to be the one when some tourists get trapped (and killed) into the Volturi palace.

For the square scene, it's also rumored that there's going to be something like 1500 walk-on actors involved. Initially, the company that's managing the casting decided to choose just 500 people, later increasing that number to 800: now, rumors are indicating 1500 people as the final recruiting number.

Blogger takes a trip through the New Moon filming location in Italy

One blogger has taken her interest in what is coming with The Twilight Saga: New Moon to a whole new level - she has seen, in person, what Montepulciano, the Italian to-be set location for filming with stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Ashley Greene, looks like.
With photographs, written sentiments, and a personal guide to her readers, this blogger has documented all we need to know about the city and where we will probably see some of the scenes take place.
For instance, in this picture, we see a courtyard/square in the middle of the city. In New Moon the book, the scene where [*spoiler*] Bella and Alice are trying to reach the bereft Edward Cullen before it's too late takes place in a similar-looking area. According to the blogger, "It was definitely a brilliant town, and it is how I pictured Volterra in my mind."

Robert Pattinson is going to enjoy spending time with British actors Michael Sheen and Jamie Campbell Bower when they film their New Moon scenes in Italy.

Rob won't be able to spend time with Nikki Reed and Taylor Lautner as they aren't going to Italy.

Kellan Lutz is tagging along with Ashley Greene and Kristen Stewart so some of Rob's Twilight pals will be there.

It seems strange to us that so many British actors will be in New Moon but Rob isn't surprised.

When he was asked by Teen First if he thought being British gave him something extra to play a vampire he said: "I don't know if being British helps! (Laughs)

"It's weird because there were a lot of British people up for this part. The author's choice was an English guy which was really strange.

"She wanted all English guys to play Americans."

Rob think he knows why Stephenie Meyer wanted a British guy to play Edward Cullen.

He added: "I think there is something about this myth in America of British people being classy."
