Robert Pattinson talks True Blood Audition, Zac Efron and More!

Last month, True Blood star Stephen Moyer caused an uproar when he referred to Robert Pattinson as the "Diet Coke of vampires," among other, even less flattering descriptions.
It turns out, based on a new interview, that Moyer was insulting an actor that came oh-so-close to being his co-star.
What do we mean? Read through the following Pattinson excerpts to find out...

On prior attempts to act like a vampire: "I did an audition for True Blood, but that didn't work out. I didn't think I would get the role of Edward Cullen, either, because the character is very enigmatic. I didn't want to play the biggest vampire stereotype, so I tried to humanize him."

On Zac Efron: "We met at an awards show. He's the new face of success. But he's all the opposite of what I thought he would be. He's so honest and down to earth. You'd think he's so prepared for the press, but he's not."

On his fans: "They are increadibly opinionated. They have very clear ideas as to how I should live my life. Who knew 15-year olds could be so moralistic?"

On meeting Kristen Stewart: "In the beginning I thought: 'She's so serious, so I have to be very serious too.' And I went on without talking to her for like two weeks. She must have thought I was stuck up. I only spoke to her about the movie, other movies, books, serious stuff. But I felt like an idiot. I dropped the act and we got along great."

Robert Pattinson Suits Up

Wiping his nose with the back of his hand, Robert Pattinson looks sharp in a suit as he heads to the Remember Me film set in Queens in NYC on Wednesday morning (July 8).
Yesterday, the 23-year-old British actor was seen filming and hanging out with young costar Ruby Jerins. Ruby plays Tyler’s younger sister, Caroline.Robert recently dished to Spanish magazine Los 40 Principales that he admires fellow actor and heartthrob Zac Efron. He shared, “We met at an awards show. He’s the new face of success. But he’s all the opposite of what I thought he would be. He’s so honest and down to earth. You’d think he’s so prepared for the press, but he’s not.”

Robert Pattinson would hate to be like Zac Efron and Miley Cyrus.

Rob was asked by a Spanish magazine if he had any plans to release an album like "the Disney kids."

He replied: "No, I hate that. I won't consider it until I quit acting.

"I've only played in pubs. I had never recorded anything or made money with music.

"Maybe just 60 euros for playing here and there. I don't want to become a franchise like the Disney kids."

Rob recognises that it is important to keep his fans happy.

He explains: "It's like having two jobs; acting and mantaining your fans interested so you can keep working."

Rob VS Zack In GQ Mag Covers plus E! Online Article

Just a friendly comparison here, folks. Twilight hottie Robert Pattinson was on the cover of the recently released April 2009 GQ Magazine while High School Musical hunk Zac Efron will be gracing the May 2009 GQ cover.

Alex Pappademas, who wrote the piece on Rob for GQ, also interviewed Zac. And, Peggy Sirota, who famously took the Vanity Fair photos of the Twilight cast and had Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in unforgettable clinches, aimed her camera at the young heartthrob and made him go through the paces as well, albeit without a partner.

Zac Efron And Robert Pattinson Losers In Love? The rivals find common ground...

Zac Efron and Robert Pattinson share one thing in common, other than their dreamy hearttrhob status - their poor track record with women.
Believe it or not but Zac and Rob's teenage years were reportedly plagued by hopeless encounters with women.
Zac tells the News of the World, "There were lots of girls who I liked who didn't like me back.
"I could do everything I wanted to at 17 but didn't get the chance to! I was doing musical theatre in high school, and that wasn't necessarily the coolest thing to be a part of."
Zac cringes when he thinks of some of his attempts to woo women gone wrong - in particular a serenade.
He says, "I got nervous beforehand and fluffed the whole chorus - I started singing the wrong lyrics.
"So what was supposed to be a nice little shout-out to a girl I liked ended up messing up the entire chorus of the main song."
Meanwhile, Rob - who has also revealed his diar dating past - says that he was never really a hit with ladies until he gained an all access pass to Hollywood.
